All Saints during the Covid-19 outbreak
The Vicar, Church Wardens and PCC have reluctantly decided to ask the Bishop of Derby for permission to close the church for public worship during Covid-19 Tier 4 restrictions/lockdown with immediate effect. Permission has been granted.
This closure will not effect requests for funerals in the building or burials of ashes which will still be able to go ahead under Government restrictions.
We are particularly concerned over the greatly increased infectivity of the new strain of Covid-19, the current high rate of transmission in Mickleover and the vulnerability of our congregation. For absolute clarity, this means no Sunday morning services or Wednesday morning private prayers. We understand this will disappoint but hope you can understand thinking behind this difficult decision. The PCC have an absolute duty of care for the safety of everyone who enters the building. Please be assured that any of the clergy team will be happy to pray with anyone over the telephone if you wish to contact them via the church office.
We will continue to offer worship each Sunday on Zoom at 10am and a service on Derby Community Radio also on Sunday 10am and at 11am on Wednesday mornings www.radioforderby.co.uk
Let us all pray that 2021 will see the end of this awful pandemic.
Yours in Christ

A prayer from the Church of England for all those affected by coronavirus Keep us, good Lord, under the shadow of your mercy. Sustain and support the anxious, be with those who care for the sick, and lift up all who are brought low; that we may find comfort knowing that nothing can separate us from your love in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. |
