We are delighted that you are thinking of having a church wedding ceremony.
To arrange a wedding at All Saints we suggest you contact the Church Office on 01332 510446 or email email@example.com and we can then make an appointment at the Parish Office to meet a member of the clergy.
It is a normal legal requirement that either yourself or your partner lives within the parish of All Saints (you can check this on the website http:www.achurchnearyou.com/parishmap.php or ask us to do it).
Alternatively it is possible to be married here if you don't live in the parish but have attended worship here regularly, which allows you to be added to our electoral roll (the church membership list).
If you fulfil neither of the above conditions but you have a "Qualifying Connection" with All Saints Church, it is possible that you could be married here. The connections include the following: you or your parents used to live in this parish, your parents still live in the parish, your parents or your grandparents were married in the church, you were baptised in this church, you used to attend this church. Please ring the Parish Office beforehand to ask what documentation you need to bring with you to prove the connection. You will also need to bring your passport or driving licence.
If either of you has been married previously, we will ask you to go through a different procedure prior to discussing dates. This will involve a meeting with one of the clergy, during which we will need to ask questions about your previous marriage and divorce, your current relationship, and your interest in the Christian faith. Following this, the minister will decide whether or not to grant permission for you to be married in church.
If you do request a church wedding service, then you will have already made your choice to have a religious ceremony rather than a civil one. This means much more than holding it in a picturesque building. It means you have opted for a Christian wedding - not perfect, but Christian - that is, letting Jesus Christ be a vital part of your home and your relationship.
The Church of England website provides a great deal of useful information on all aspects of Church weddings.
